Product — Any item sold by Dfi Corporate under the Dafi Time & Bags brand, including watches and bags.
In-Stock Item — A product immediately available for purchase and shipment, as indicated on dafi.nl.
Sourced Item — A product shown on dafi.nl with a 2–4 week delivery window. Not held in stock; obtained specifically for the customer. Sourced Items are subject to the Special & Custom Orders terms.
Custom / Special Order — Any item ordered, produced, or sourced at the customer's specific request that is not a regularly listed in-stock product.
Online Purchase — Any order placed through dafi.nl, Instagram, WhatsApp, email, or any other digital channel. For Custom and Special Orders placed via any channel, the rules in the Special & Custom Orders section apply regardless of how the order was initiated.
Part-Exchange Transaction — A transaction in which a customer sells one or more items to Dfi Corporate and simultaneously purchases one or more items from Dfi Corporate, with a cash difference settled between parties.
General Sales
▼Pricing & VAT — The Margin Scheme
Under Dutch law, many of the products we sell are subject to the Margeregeling (Margin Scheme).
Under the Margin Scheme, VAT is calculated only on our margin (the difference between our purchase price and selling price) — not on the full selling price. This means: the price shown is the price you pay. No VAT is added on top at checkout. Importantly, VAT cannot be deducted by the buyer when the Margin Scheme applies — no VAT invoice can be issued for these transactions.
If standard VAT applies to a specific item, this will be explicitly stated on the product listing and invoice. When no VAT mention is made, the Margin Scheme applies and the listed price is all-inclusive.
Order Confirmation
An agreement is formed when you place an order through any channel. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel orders in the following situations:
- The product is out of stock or no longer available
- The order is flagged as unusual or potentially fraudulent
- Billing information cannot be verified
- There is a visible pricing error on the listing
- We are unable to deliver to the provided address
If we cannot accept your order, you will be notified by email or WhatsApp and any payment made will be fully refunded.
Payment — Bank Transfer Only
All payments — for both in-person and online/remote purchases — must be made by bank transfer. We do not accept cash or card payments. Our bank details are provided on your invoice or upon request. Full payment is required before delivery unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Authenticity Guarantee
▼We guarantee the authenticity of every watch and bag we sell. Before any item is offered for sale, it undergoes a thorough verification process. We photograph every item extensively — both to document its condition and to create a permanent record of its authenticity at the time of sale.
Our Verification Process
Every item sold by Dafi Time & Bags is inspected and verified before listing. We maintain a complete photographic record of each item, including reference numbers, serial numbers, hallmarks, hardware, stitching, and any other identifying features. This documentation forms the basis of our authenticity guarantee and our ability to verify claims after the fact.
Authenticity Claims
If you believe an item you purchased from us is not authentic, you must notify us in writing within 14 days of receiving it — via email (info@dafi.nl) or WhatsApp — with a clear description of your concern and supporting evidence.
Upon receiving a claim, we will conduct a review using our photographic records and, where necessary, engage an independent specialist for expert assessment. We reserve the right to request that the item be returned for physical inspection before any determination is made.
If an item is confirmed to be inauthentic following our investigation, we will provide a full refund of the purchase price. We will not accept or act on claims where the item presented for assessment does not match our records for the item sold — our photographic documentation is definitive in establishing what was sold and in what condition.
Bags — Authenticity Only
For bags, our guarantee covers authenticity exclusively. Luxury bags are subject to wear and use over time, and any manufacturing defects are matters between the customer and the original brand. We do not warrant the condition, material, hardware, or durability of bags beyond what was accurately described and shown at the time of sale.
Orders
▼In-Stock vs. Sourced Items
Items on dafi.nl that are immediately available are In-Stock Items. Items showing a 2–4 week delivery window are Sourced Items — they must be obtained specifically for you and are governed by the Special & Custom Orders section, not the standard return policy.
Official Channels
Orders can be placed through any of our official channels: dafi.nl, email, WhatsApp, or any social media account linked directly from dafi.nl. The easiest way to verify you are dealing with us: if the channel is linked on our website, it is ours. If it is not linked on dafi.nl, it is not us — and we accept no responsibility for any transactions, communications, or representations made through unaffiliated or unofficial accounts, including look-alike or impersonator accounts on any platform.
Shipping & Delivery
Shipping costs are calculated per order and are borne by the customer. You are also responsible for any applicable import/export duties, excise duties, or local taxes. We are not responsible for declaring or paying these on your behalf. We ship to the address provided at time of order and may use third-party carriers.
Delivery Times
All delivery times are estimates. Delays can occur, particularly with high-value sourced goods. A delayed delivery does not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle you to compensation or cancellation unless a firm deadline was explicitly agreed in writing.
Right to Return — 14-Day Cooling-Off Period
As a consumer making a direct online purchase of an in-stock item, you have the right to cancel within 14 calendar days of receipt, without giving a reason.
To exercise this right:
- Notify us within 14 days of receipt — by email (info@dafi.nl) or WhatsApp
- Return the item within 14 days of notification, at your own cost and risk
- The item must be returned in the exact condition delivered, including all original seals, stickers, tags, packaging, accessories, and documentation
A return will not be accepted if:
- Any original seals have been broken or removed
- Any stickers, tags, or packaging are missing, damaged, or altered
- There is any damage, scratching, marks, or signs of use not present at delivery
- Any accessories, documentation, or boxes are missing
We reserve the right to refuse a return or reduce the refund amount if the item is not returned in the condition it was delivered. If all conditions are met, the refund will be processed within 14 days of receipt, to the same bank account used for payment.
In-Store Purchases — No Right of Return
For purchases made in person at our Maastricht boutique, no statutory right of withdrawal applies. Under Dutch law (art. 6:230o BW), the 14-day cooling-off right is specific to distance and off-premises contracts. In-store sales are final. We do not accept returns on in-store purchases.
Special & Custom Orders / Sourced Items
▼This section applies to: custom jewellery, special orders, and all Sourced Items (including products listed on dafi.nl with a 2–4 week delivery window). These are items we obtain, commit to, or produce specifically on your behalf.
Please think carefully before placing such an order. Once we have committed to sourcing the item from our supplier, the transaction is binding and cannot be reversed.
Before We Have Ordered from Our Supplier
If you wish to cancel before we have placed the order with our supplier, cancellation is possible. No cash refund will be issued. Instead, you will receive the full amount as a Dafi voucher, valid for a future purchase.
After We Have Ordered — No Cancellation
Once we have placed the order with Dafi's supplier on your behalf, the order is final. There is no right of cancellation, return, or refund — in any form. The item is yours. By placing a special or sourced order, you confirm that you have considered your purchase and understand it cannot be undone once we have committed to your supplier.
Deposits
We may require a deposit of up to 100% of the purchase price. Deposits are non-refundable except as a Dafi voucher where cancellation occurs before we have ordered from the supplier.
All Cancellations Must Be in Writing
Cancellations must be submitted in writing (email, WhatsApp, or letter). The date we receive your cancellation determines whether the supplier order had already been placed.
Part-Exchange & Trade-In Transactions
▼A Part-Exchange Transaction is one where you sell item(s) to Dfi Corporate and simultaneously purchase item(s) from Dfi Corporate, with a cash difference settled between parties. These transactions are governed by two agreements that form a single linked commercial arrangement.
Two Agreements, One Deal
Agreement A — Your sale to us: When you ship your item(s) to Dfi Corporate and we receive them, the sale of those items is complete. You are the seller; we are the buyer. From the moment of receipt, the items belong to Dfi Corporate unconditionally. Dfi Corporate may list, sell, or otherwise deal with those items immediately upon receipt.
Agreement B — Your purchase from us: Your purchase of a Dafi item is a separate transaction subject to our standard terms. The 14-day cooling-off right applies to this agreement only if the item purchased is an in-stock item bought online. It does not apply to Sourced Items, Custom Orders, or Special Orders — those are final once placed, regardless of whether they form part of a part-exchange.
Interdependency — What Happens if You Withdraw
Because these two agreements form a single linked transaction, the following applies if you exercise your right of withdrawal on Agreement B (your purchase):
- If your traded-in item(s) have not yet been resold: Dfi Corporate reserves the right to simultaneously dissolve Agreement A and return your traded-in item(s). The cash difference you paid will also be refunded. The full transaction is unwound.
- If one or more of your traded-in items have already been resold: Those items cannot be returned. Dfi Corporate will pay you the agreed trade-in value for each item that has been sold, as stated in your Part-Exchange Agreement. You will also receive a refund of the cash difference paid. The trade-in value, not market value, is the applicable amount.
Documentation
Every Part-Exchange Transaction requires a signed (or digitally confirmed) Part-Exchange / Purchase Statement, stating the trade-in value of each item, the purchase price of the item you are acquiring, and the cash difference. A clear written confirmation via WhatsApp or email confirming these amounts and acceptance of these terms constitutes a valid agreement under Dutch law.
Dfi Corporate's Right to Withdraw from the Linked Deal
Where Dfi Corporate entered into a Part-Exchange Transaction specifically because of the linked purchase — i.e. Dfi Corporate would not have purchased your items at the agreed value, or at all, without the context of the full transaction — Dfi Corporate reserves the right to treat Agreement A as conditional on Agreement B remaining in force. If you withdraw from Agreement B, Dfi Corporate may elect to unwind Agreement A as described above, at its sole discretion.
Watch Warranty
▼We provide a 12-month warranty on the movement of every watch we sell, from the date of delivery. This warranty covers mechanical defects in the movement — and nothing else. The movement is the mechanical engine of the watch. Everything else is outside the scope of this warranty.
What Is Not Covered
- Normal wear and tear — scratches, scuffs, worn bracelet links, faded dials, aged gaskets, or any cosmetic deterioration through regular use
- Water damage — all watches are water-tested by us prior to sale. Any subsequent water ingress or damage is not covered under warranty
- Physical impact damage — dents, cracks, broken crystals, damaged cases, bezels, or crowns resulting from dropping, impact, or mishandling. If the watch has a visible dent or structural damage, this indicates an impact event outside our control and outside our warranty coverage
- Third-party servicing — if the watch has been opened, adjusted, or serviced by any watchmaker not authorised by Dafi, the warranty is immediately and fully void. We have no way to assess what occurred during an unauthorised service and accept no liability for any subsequent issues
- External components — straps, bracelets, cases, crowns, pushers, crystals, dials, and all non-movement parts are not covered under any circumstances
How to Make a Warranty Claim
Report the issue within 14 days of discovery, within the warranty period, via email (info@dafi.nl) or WhatsApp (+31 6 14 82 18 32), including your name, order reference, and a description of the issue. If the claim is valid, we will repair or replace the affected part, or issue a credit equal to the relevant value. Legal claims must be filed within one year of the original complaint.
Repairs & Uncollected Items
▼Repaired Items Not Collected
Once your repair is complete we will notify you. If after three written notifications (the last by registered letter) you have not collected within 3 months, we are entitled to sell the item and recover our costs from the proceeds. You may claim any remaining proceeds for up to 3 months after the sale; after that, interest and storage fees apply.
Sourced Items Not Collected
If we ordered a product from a third party on your behalf and you have not collected it within 4 weeks of three written notifications, we reserve the right to sell the product in-store.
Ownership & Liability
▼Transfer of Ownership
Risk of loss or damage transfers to you once the product is made available and deemed delivered. Legal ownership transfers only once full payment — including any interest or costs owed — has been received.
Our Liability
Our liability is limited to the warranty and authenticity obligations in these terms. We are not liable for indirect damages, except in cases of gross negligence. If we are found liable, liability is capped at the amount paid out under our corporate liability insurance, or at the invoice value of the relevant order where no insurance payment applies.
Intellectual Property
▼All designs, images, product photography, descriptions, and content created or provided by Dfi Corporate remain our intellectual property. You may not reproduce, share, or use any of it without prior written permission.
Force Majeure
▼We cannot be held liable for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control — including war, civil unrest, pandemics, natural disasters, extreme weather, transport disruptions, strikes, or decisions by our suppliers and manufacturers.
Applicable Law & Disputes
▼These terms and all agreements with Dfi Corporate are governed exclusively by Dutch law. The UN Vienna Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in Maastricht, unless mandatory legal provisions require otherwise.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms at any time. We will notify you by email or via dafi.nl, with a link to the updated version. If you do not object within 14 days, the updated terms are deemed accepted.
Severability
If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply in full.

Cookies & Tracking
▼Our website uses cookies — small files stored on your device — to make the site work and to help us understand how it is used. We distinguish between two types:
Essential Cookies
These are strictly necessary for the website to function — for example, session management, shopping cart state, and security. These are set automatically and cannot be disabled without breaking the site.
Non-Essential Cookies (Analytics & Marketing)
We use analytics tools (including Google Analytics, with IP anonymisation enabled) to understand how visitors use our website. These cookies are only set with your consent, which we request via a cookie banner on your first visit.
You can withdraw or change your cookie preferences at any time by adjusting your browser settings. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before withdrawal.
Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies may be set by third-party services embedded in our site (e.g. analytics scripts). We manage these through our consent mechanism.
Cookies We Use

Use of Artificial Intelligence
▼Dfi Corporate uses AI-powered tools in certain parts of our business operations — including, but not limited to, content creation, product descriptions, customer communication drafting, and internal workflow support.
What This Means for You
AI tools may assist in processing or drafting responses to your enquiries, but all decisions that materially affect you — including order acceptance, pricing, authenticity determinations, and dispute resolution — are made by a human member of our team. We do not use fully automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on customers.
Data & AI
Where AI tools process any personal data (for example, when drafting a reply to a customer message), we ensure that the tools used comply with GDPR requirements and that data is handled under appropriate data processing agreements. We do not feed identifiable customer data into public or uncontrolled AI systems.
Newsletter & Marketing Communications
▼We send newsletters and promotional updates only to individuals who have explicitly opted in. By subscribing, you consent to receiving periodic emails about new arrivals, events, and Dafi news.
Your Rights
- You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any newsletter
- You can contact us at info@dafi.nl to be removed from our list
- Unsubscribing from marketing does not affect transactional messages (order confirmations, shipping updates)
We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
We retain your email address for newsletter purposes until you unsubscribe or request deletion. We use a third-party email service provider to manage our newsletter list. They process your data under a data processing agreement with us and do not use it for their own purposes.
Third-Party Services & Data Sharing
▼We share personal data only as needed to deliver our services. Current service providers include:
- Vercel — website hosting and performance analytics
- Sanity — content management and form data storage
- Didit — identity verification and KYC for all transactions — see dedicated section below
- Google Analytics — website usage analytics (consent-based, IP anonymisation enabled)
- Shipping carriers — name and address shared for delivery fulfilment
- Third-party email service provider — for newsletter distribution
- AI tools — as described in the AI section above
We do not share your data with third parties for advertising or profiling purposes. We ensure appropriate data processing agreements (DPAs) or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) are in place where data is transferred outside the EU/EEA.
We may disclose personal data if required by Dutch or EU law, a court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Dfi Corporate or others.
Identity Verification — Didit KYC
▼For all purchase and trade-in transactions, Dfi Corporate uses Didit (didit.me) as its identity verification provider. Didit is an AI-powered KYC (Know Your Customer) platform that allows us to verify the identity of sellers and buyers before completing a transaction. This helps us prevent fraud, verify that goods are legitimately owned, and comply with our obligations under Dutch law.
What Didit Collects
For every transaction, Didit will collect and process the following on our behalf:
- A scan or photo of your government-issued identity document (passport, ID card, or driving licence)
- A selfie or short facial scan for liveness detection — to confirm you are a real, present person and not a photo or deepfake
- A face match comparison between your selfie and your ID document photo
- Automatically extracted data from your ID: name, date of birth, document number, and document validity
Why We Use It
Dafi deals in high-value luxury goods. Identity verification protects both parties — it ensures we are buying from and selling to legitimate individuals, reduces the risk of fraud and stolen goods entering our inventory, and creates a verifiable paper trail for each transaction. We are required under Dutch law to maintain records of sellers of used goods.
How Didit Handles Your Data
Didit processes your identity data as a data processor on our behalf, under a Data Processing Agreement (DPA). Didit is GDPR-compliant and ISO 27001, 27017, and 27018 certified. Your data is processed on EU-based servers by default. Didit does not use your data for its own purposes — it acts only on our instructions.
For full details on how Didit handles personal data, see Didit's privacy policy at didit.me/privacy.
Retention
Identity verification data is retained for as long as required by Dutch law (typically 5–7 years for transaction records). You may request details about what is held and for how long by contacting us at info@dafi.nl.
How Long We Keep Your Data
▼- Order & payment records: Up to 10 years (Dutch tax/accounting law)
- Purchase statements & ID data: As required by applicable law; typically 5–7 years
- Contact & WhatsApp communications: 1–3 years from last interaction, unless a longer period is legally required
- Newsletter subscriptions: Until you unsubscribe or request deletion
- Analytics data: Aggregated/anonymised data indefinitely; raw logs deleted or anonymised promptly
Your Rights (GDPR)
▼As an EU/EEA resident, you have the following rights under the GDPR:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Erasure — request deletion of your data where there is no overriding reason to retain it
- Restriction — ask us to temporarily limit how we use your data
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing
- Withdraw consent — withdraw consent for analytics or newsletter at any time
- Lodge a complaint — with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@dafi.nl. We may ask you to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.
Security
▼We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit, access controls, and limited personnel access. In the event of a data breach, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
Children's Privacy
▼Our services are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe we hold data about a child, please contact us immediately and we will delete it promptly.
Updates to This Policy
▼We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we update the date at the top of this page. We recommend checking this page periodically. Continued use of our services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
